Q1 Would you tell us about the brand concept? When did you start?
I design trendy, funky yet classy one-of-a-kind tank tops of the finest cotton in a wide range of singing colors and styles. Since no top is ever exactly duplicated, a woman can feel confident she's wearing a signature piece. Since I was a little girl, my hobby was designing clothes. I was born in Israel, and raised up in New York City. When I met my husband Mickey, settled down in Israel and Fashion Designing was never the 'right time' as I worked many years in the corporate world. Six years ago, I decided to finally follow my dream and turned my hobby into full time business by designing distinctive and trendy tank tops. I believed in my concept so much, and went in with such passion that I quickly established a reputation throughout Israel.
Q2 Would you tell us your career as a fashion designer?
When my husband was relocated to Boston 3 years ago from Israel, I found myself facing several new challenges, including the 4 seasons! In Israel there are mainly 2 seasons - winter and summer. Since summer is much longer in the Israel, tank tops are always in demand and crucial part of every woman's closet. I had to learn about the local market, and have been convinced that tank tops can be sold all year round after all. I now launched my website store enabling women to purchase my line national and international. |

Q3 What do you think the trend for this season in fashion?
I love the 40's and 50's style with the funnel stand neckline styles around with plenty of variations including the grays and purples. Other styles are somehow daring, yet modest at the same time.
Q4 what do you feel important when you are working on your pieces?
My designs are catered for the multi-generation. Women today are definitely ageless and have such a huge variety of designs to choose from. They control age – age does not control them! It's about wearing it and feeling the best about you.
Q5 What's inspiring your work?
Designs based on what I would wear personally, my moods and what excites me. When I get my hands on a fabric and material I immediately envision the style and the way it would look as a top. |

Q13 what do you think about Japan? (Life style, fashion, culture etc...)
Japanese fashion is an influence to so many women in the world, because it's daring and never afraid to break the rules – after all, if you 'follow the rules, you miss all the fun!!' A balance between funky and class – "SuperMix"
Q14 What is your favorite cuisine? Would you tell us your favorite restaurants?
I love home cooking even though I am a terrible cook! I am into eating healthy and have several favorite restaurants.
Q15 Any message for your Japanese fans?
I am always inspired by the Japanese fashion that is so influential, timeless, classic and fun. I am excited that Gail Schneider Designs will be exposed to this great market. |

Q6 Where does the brand name come from?
I felt that the style and designs reflect me and my style.
Q7 Are there any people who inspired you? Who do you respect?
I respect so many talented designers. But, my husband, Mickey is my biggest supporter. He definitely is my inspiration on the business focused side.
Q8 What kind of fashion style do you like?
Style is a way to live. I love to mix and match. I can wear feminine, black small dress with high heels, and then again a ripped pair of jeans, t-shirt and boots. It's not what you wear it's how you wear it.

There are so many, but I guess the first 2 on the list are Miuccia Prada, Dolce&Gabbana,

Q10 Where is your favorite store for shopping?
I travel allot, and love to explore small unique boutiques. I always discover new designers that I admire. When I see something I love, I buy it
Q11 please tells us about next collection.
I am constantly re-inventing my self and my line. I try to fit a 'small statement of the season's trend, in my designs. But, all in all, I love the classic looks, which can be worn forever.
Q12 what are your long term goals as a designer?
I recently launched my first online boutique and I will be focusing on this for a while. I love challenges and changes, and try not to look too far ahead. |
