Q1 Pease tell us your brief background.
My name's Dan Lachman, and I'm the owner of sharpshirter.com. I just turned 21, and am a junior at Wesleyan University. My major is psychology, but I plan on working full time on Sharp Shirter after I graduate.

Q2 Would you tell us your career as a fashion designer?
In high school, I started coming up with ideas for designs, but since I couldn't draw, I had to find designers to create the images. After a lot of trial and error, I finally found some amazing guys to work with. With my ideas and their drawing abilities, we have created some fantastic images that couldn't have been done alone by either of us. I currently work with 12 international designers, and am always on the look out for more guys to work with.

Q3 Would you tell us about your brand? What is the concept behind it?
The concept behind my brand is to provide graphic based designs that are eye catching, but don't get boring. I want Sharp Shirter tees to be ideal for any occasion: going to a club, hanging out with your friends, seeing a concert etc...
Q9 Who is your favorite designer?
I'd have to say that the designers from Ames Bros are pretty sweet.

Q10 Tell us about your next collection? Any future plans?
3 new designs are going to be coming out in the next two weeks. They are featuring a pirate octopus, birds on a tree, and girl's face made out of bricks.

Q11 Do you have anyone, any place, anything that you are strongly inspired by recently?
I'm strongly inspired by Anime movies like Blood the Last Vampire. I'm also a big fan of the Nine Inch Nails, so I've got a weak spot for dark imagery.

Q12 What do you see Japan from you? (culture, fashion, lifestyles, etc..)
I see Japan as one of the coolest fashion centers in the world. I love the style, the crazy creatures, the movies and the food. I'd love to come and visit soon.

Q13 If you can travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Since my dad's from South Africa, I love traveling to visit family in Cape Town, South Africa. It's my favorite place in the world, and has some amazing artwork made out of wires and bottle caps.

sharpshirter.com is an online t-shirt store that is dedicated to delivering alternative designs for men and women that stand out from the crowd. Rather than making catchy word shirts that get old fast, Sharp Shirter provides graphic based designs that don't lose their charm. Founded in 2006, Sharp Shirter has quickly become a hot commodity, and is selling in over 30 stores across the US. All of the tees on the site are designed by an international team of artists ranging from Bolivia to Thailand to the Netherlands to Romania and on! By the beginning of 2008, Sharp Shirter will also be offering a line of Sharp Skins: laptop stickers that go on the back of your computer, and can peel off without leaving any residue. Stop by and check them out!
Q4 What is your greatest inspiration when you make pieces?
My greatest inspiration is my imagination before I fall asleep. As I'm drifting off, twisted images begin to pop into my head, and I write them down in a notebook beside my bed. In the morning I look over all the crazy thoughts I had and figure out which ones will make the best designs.

Q5 What do you think the trend for this season?
I go to a hippie college. I have no clue what normal people wear...

Q6 Tell us the locations where we can find your collection.
You can find my tees in tons of little boutiques across the US. The major stores that I'm currently selling to are: Lord & Taylor, Yellow Rat Bastard and Commander Salamander.

Q7 What kind of fashion style do you like?
I like vintage stuff. I think Japanese fashion is pretty cool as well.

Q8 Which celebrities are wearing your tees?
Kim Stoltz from America’s Next Top Model wore one of my tees on MTV. My favorite rapper M.I.A might be wearing one of my tees very soon. I'll keep you posted on my site! Ronnie Miller from the Discovery Channel
Q14 Where do you live?
I live in Bethesda, Maryland, which is a two minute drive from Washington D.C.

Q15 Where do you go for shopping?
I've stopped shopping since I started my t-shirt line. I can swap my tees for just about anything with other companies. I love trading for other shirts, toys, wallets... you name it!

Q16 What is your favorite food? Any good restaurants?
My favorite food in Japanese. I just got back from a place called Spices that has great sushi.

Q17 Any last words?
When you buy my tees, my mom will send them out to you the next day! She's retired now, and is my unpaid volunteer while I finish my degree at university :)
