Q1 When did you first want to be a designer?
I knew I wanted to be a designer as a little girl. I would draw cartoon figures with crazy evening gowns.
Q2 What’s a highlight of your recent design career?
Being in LUCKY magazine was a big highlight for me, because I hadn't even graduated from college yet and I was already being recognized in a popular magazine, it fed my passion and gave me reassurance I was on the right path.
Q3 Please tells us about your brand. What is the concept behind it?
My Brand is called: AmberLynn it's a combination of my first and middle name. I chose it because I have always been told I have a great name and I should be famous one day (let's hope so)... The concept behind an AmberLynn: is finding that perfect balance between bold and classic by mixing-and-matching different style genres and design elements in surprising ways. |

Q4 Where do you go for inspiration?
I am easily inspired and by so many things: my current surroundings, the people in my life, other designers, music and pop culture. Mostly, I love the past; history in school always intrigued me and I pull a lot of my inspiration from clothes through the decades: predominately the 40s and the 50s, when life was more simple and less technology driven.
Q5 Is there a designer who inspires you?
I can't possibly pin it down to just one.... Marc Jacobs: a fellow retro-lover, Zac Posen: for his creative structural pieces and Vivien Westwood: for her punk rock fearless vision.
Q6 As a designer, who is your muse?
Again, it's a combination: It's a little bit Marilyn Monroe, and now the modern day version: Scarlett Johansen, I love their womanly bodies and timeless beauty. I also like Kristen Dunst's indie style and my older sister; she has always been a fashionable force in my life. |

| Amber Lynn Beach is a fashion graduate from Columbia College Chicago. Raised in Florida, the Sunshine State, her style has a southern and feminine essence to it. She began shopping vintage and second-hand stores for hidden treasures at a very young age. Her unique sense of style began through the creative mixing-and-matching of favorite flea-market and thrift store finds with a few trendy pieces. This remarkable talent for resourcefulness and her inventive spirit pushed her to follow her dreams. Even before graduation, Amber Lynn's designs found their way into the pages of Lucire, a global fashion magazine. Passionate and driven Amber simultaneously developed her first full collection, "The Temp" while finishing her last semester at Columbia College, which she went on to debut at Chicago Fashion week. Her sleek 14 ensembles made quite an impact on the runway; the audience quickly fell in love with her seductive retro inspired garments, as did Lucky magazine, which spotlighted her black and white houndstooth cropped jacket AmberLynn's creations are a wonderful mixture of contrasting components: naughty and nice, sweet and spicy, feminine and masculine, urban and country. This ying-yang philosophy of balancing different forces has allowed Amber to design signature pieces that would be a complimentary addition to anyone's wardrobe. |
