Q1 How did you get into fashion design? Where did you study and what was your major specialization?
My background is in Painting and psychology. I stumbled into fashion and became hooked!
 

Q2 Let's talk about your design. What do you think is the most important element in your design?
My designs are sustainable. I use recycled materials and remnant fabric, and I introduced organic cotton last year.

Q3 Who is your customer, and how do they find you?
My customer is artistic and modern. Patina can be found in a handful of small boutiques across the US and online at www.ilovepatina.com

Q4 What are you working on right now?
I am working on some embroidery designs for my Fall line and a huge mock wedding photo shoot!

Q5 If you could create a dress for anyone in the world, who would you choose?
I would love to dress the characters from Francesca lia Blocks book, Dangerous Angels.

 
 
I Love Patina designer, Shannon Mulkey says "I started my clothing line in 2005. It began as this fun side project making knits and one of a kind pieces and it took off from there. I still create knits from September until January. I also produce a line of reconstructed hand dyed slip dresses as well as 2 small limited run collections annually. Last year I stared doing some custom wedding designs too. Q6 Could you tell us your dream project that you would like to do?
My dream project is to present my line in other countries. I would love to participate in Margin London

Q7 Do you have any current fashion obsessions?
Revamping thrift store finds. I never grow bored of the challenge!

Q8 If you could rewrite your history a bit and take on a totally different career or lifestyle, what would it be and why?
I would be a travel writer. I love to explore new places.
