Q1 Pease tell us your brief profile and working career. Why did you become a designer?
Time gave me the title of designer; I started creating pieces for pleasure.

Q2 What is your greatest inspiration?
Its not about inspiration, its about the process of sitting down and playing with materials, shapes and forms.

Des Kohan in Los Angeles, CA $80-360

Q4 Which celebrities are wearing?
It ranges from Bjork to Salma Hayek passing through Sienna Miller

Q5 What kind of jewelry style is the trend for this season?
For this season I've design headbands, which are pieces that are meant to be worn around the head like in the 1920's

Q6 What do you think about the current fashion trend?
There's never been a bad time for fashion; I'm always content and exited about the present.

Q7 What do you feel important when you are working on your pieces?
I stare at the results, wondering who of my friends or relatives could like or dislike it, the balance of that often ends up in starting over.
Q15 Do you have any advice for the young people?
Do it!

Q16 What is your goal? What do you want to achieve in your career?
I'm happy where I'm standing right know and greater thing will come my way.

Gabriela Artigas was born and raised in Mexico City in a home surrounded by volcanic rock. Born into a family of architects, design was innate and on everyday presence in her childhood. While studying textile design, she started selling cuffs molded out of toothbrushes. The success of the toothbrush-cuff prompted her to try different material, with led to the design of a necklace for her mother. Once her creations where being bought off her neck she decided to create her first collection, "21", and design full time. Gabriela currently lives and works in Los Angeles. In October 2004, Gabriela was the youngest designer to participate in Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion in Los Angeles. She was also the only featured designer in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles first ever store catalogue. Gabriela was the only accesory designer featured in the Los Angeles Time's review of spring's 2005 Fashion Week.

Q8 Are there any places or countries you would like to visit?
I guess every country my work takes me to, may be the right place to be. (Iceland, Sweden and Japan are places I would live in before I turn 30)

Q9 What is your favorite cuisine? Could you tell us your favorite restaurants?
Indian and Japanese, L.A.'s Crazy Fish is a long time favorite.

Q10 When is the most important time of your day?
Eggs in the morning, not as important as they are usual.

Q11 Are there any places, things or people you feel relax?
Music relaxes me, dancing is the key to a better tomorrow-morning.

Q12 What do you think the fashion/jewelry industry in Japan right now?
Japan has it all, from perfect packing to amazing fashion style and food.

Yes, I wear what I design,

Next collection is collaboration with a fashion designer for men.
