One of my strongest beliefs is that fads come and go, but style lasts forever- thank you for your interest and support. Rich's prior career as a heavy duty diesel mechanic, as well as his upbringing in the post-industrial wasteland of Northeastern New Jersey, clearly informs Rich's aesthetic. His work explores the tense intersection of the organic by the industrial, and particularly the consumption of one by the other. In 1994 Rich started by taking jewelry classes at SVA in NYC, purely out of curiosity.... Much to his surprise during those classes something sparked inside and ignited a flame that has yet to be extinguished. Taking workshops along the way and always designing and making jewelry, SPRAGWERKS was formed in 2002. Each piece of SPRAGWERKS Jewelry goes through Rich's hands, all pieces are cast in the USA and hand finished by Rich himself. Because of the "hands on approach" to making jewelry each piece is unique. And all pieces are cast on an as needed basis and some are 100% handmade.
