Q1 Could you tell us what's a highlight of your recent design career?
I would say the biggest highlight of creating Mesh NY for both Boris and myself would be creating something that we have visualized and seeing it in a magazine or on a billboard on La Cienega Blvd in Los Angeles. Also just seeing people get what you do. Building customers who come back to you and want a collection of your work... that's the best feeling. I love going to Hearst Publications, where we have a relationship with several of the editors, producers and such, and they always buy from us. That's a nice complement, considering most of these women or up with the absolute latest in fashion.
Q2 What is the one must-have article of clothing for women this spring/summer?
Short, flowing dresses with puffy sleeves. I love that look and it's perfect for the warm weather. I'm personally on the hunt for several of them |

Q3 What did you get the concept for Summer2008 collection?
We tend to create and expand on our original theme, the Mesh NY theme. We don't follow any rules or trends, which actually makes our pieces even more cutting-edge and trendy. The summer 2008 collection has more openness than the past collection, light and airy for summer. One of our pieces "Lipstick" was inspired by NBC's Lipstick Jungle. We are planning on creating similar pieces with the same theme. "Lipstick" was gifted to Brooke Shields for the launch party of the show.
Q4 If you were to dress one person, who would that be?
My boyfriend..haha. I recently gave him a set of our cufflinks, hoping he would have to improve his shirt collection. Oh well! Seriously though, I would love to work with someone like Brooke Shields. What a beautiful woman!!! |

Q10 What is your favorite cuisine? Could you tell us a good restaurant in your area?
Italian or Sushi are my favorite choices. I've never eaten better Italian food than at my boyfriends mother's house. We eat dishes on any regular Sunday to make any world famous chef envious. As far as great restaurants in NYC, where do I begin!!! I love Red Cat and Geisha. Geisha is a great place for a drink, lunch or dinner. I also love a small French restaurant called Gascone (great Oso Buco)
Q11 How do you deal with your success?
I am grateful and appreciative of our success. I see our success in the eye of our customers and it helps me to keep going.

Mesh NY jewelry is worn on television by the abchors and reporters on "The WBll Morning News," the morning newscast of New York's WPIX Channel II. Noted stylists such as George Bloodwell, Angelika Bollger, Cate Adair, Darcy Stockton and Ty-Ron Mayes have used Mesh NY pieces. They are featured in Bloodwell's fashion shoots, and Adair has placed them in ABC-TV' "Desparate Housewives." Trisha Simmons, and actress seen on shows such as, "Desparate Housewives", "Will and Grace" and Criminal Minds", regurarly sports Mesh NY designs. Mesh NY creations have been featured in The New York Post, The New York Daily News, Elle Magazine, Lucky Magazine, Top Button, Fashion Manuscript, AM New York, and on Paramount Domestic Television's nationally syndicated TV program, "The insider," with Pat O'Brien. Acctress Julie Gonzalo wore three Mesh NY necklace in an interview with a major fashion magazine. Mesh NY created original pieces for same by Design for the Cure 2005 (a runway show to benefit the Susan Koman Breast Cancer Foundation), the National Downs Syndrome Society, and Cambodian relief agencies. Q5 What are you working on now?
Always rings and we are working at increasing our earring collection. We are specifically working on creating more big bold rings that make great statements.
Q6 What do you offer to consumers different than others?
Our jewelry is VERY different and cool. We have a very unique concept that really defines cutting-edge. We are adamant about staying ahead of the fashion curve and I we have succeeded in doing so. Our pieces are statement pieces. The get noticed!
Q7 Do you have any mentors and if so, who are they?
My best friend Jacqueline Calderin. She is the most amazing woman I have ever met, raising three amazing children on her own, going to law school and becoming amazing attorney. She is extremely fashion forward and always looks beautiful. |

Q8 What do you see people wearing on the streets that you think is not tasteful?
Women wearing jeans that are too tight. I think flab hanging over jeans is about the most distasteful fashion fopa
Q9 Favorite cocktail and where to drink it?
Amarone Italian wine. Delicious!!!! |
