Q1 Please tell us little bit about the founder Mr. BF Goodrich.
Interestingly enough, the story of PF was born from the concept of using tire rubber for shoe soles. It all began at the turn of the century when American tire companies realized a new use for their product components- canvas and vulcanized rubber- and began to develop shoe lines. One of the first was B.F. Goodrich which introduced a line of rubber boots and shoes. |

In 1933, as the concept of fitness began to grow, Goodrich began adding an enhanced insert to its sneakers in an aim to provide body-aligning support in active comfort in footwear. As a result, in 1937, Posture Foundation insole technology was patented. This essential advantage was a breakthrough at the time and became the namesake of the PF Flyers brand.
Q2 For the Fall 2007 collection, what sort of pieces are feature in the collection?
Fall 2007 is themed around "New England Modern", PF's neoclassic vision of the traditions and cultural sophistication of New England translated to seventy years of sneaker heritage. Long-lost, tailored quality and rich, worldly materials have been composed with a striking modern eye. Classic sneaker bones including the Center Hi and Glide and new styles like the Perrin and Piper become the foundation for the subtlety of heirloom silks, luxury leathers and endlessly deep tweeds from around the globe. |

The unisex Number 5 has been our most popular style. Since the brand has changed hands several times through its 70 year history, there is no existing record of the number of offerings. Today, PF Flyers has expanded its line to include core reissue styles, which were redesigned from past styles and new sneaker styles for men and women including skimmers, wedges and lace ups. |
