Q1 When did you first want to be a designer?
When I was a little girl making barbie clothes.
Q2 What's a highlight of your recent design career?
I am going to have a fashion show at Montreal Fashion Week on March 25th. I am very excited about this. I will also be opening a store called League of Lovers and Thieves in Toronto in April. |

Q3 Please tells us about your brand. What is the concept behind it?
Thieves is an eco clothing line. It brings environmental consciousness to design.
Q4 Where do you go for inspiration?
All around is inspiration, what people are wearing, architecture, art, ideas, concepts, magazines, creative people, and nature.
Q5 In the past, what was your favorite project and why?
Putting on big art shows, with 30 different artists and designers..... I really like getting creative people together and creating opportunites for Artist to show their work and mixing it with good music and good vibes and of course lots of people!
Q6 Is there a designer who inspires you the most?
I really like Rick Owens and threeasfour as well as Yab Yum. |

| Thieves' infuses aesthetics cultivated from Sonja den Elzens's love of design, tailored fashion and high end street fashion, while an appreciation of art, the exploration of texture and a growing respect for the environment keeps Sonja exploring different raw materials and methods of construction providing subtle, yet distinct attention to detail, quality and style. As a self-taught designer with a long history in the fashion industry, Sonja Den Elzen's two year old line Thieves works with sustainable fabrics such as organic cotton, bamboo, soy, tussah silks, hemp yak wools, lyocell and organic wools in a unique collection worth strong consideration. Q7 What project you are working on right now?
I am working on Fall 08 Collection, getting ready for the fashion show and opening my store with my partner Dana from League of Lovers.
Q8 Tell us about your next collection. Any future plans?
The collection for Fall 08 is all about having fun, being sexy in a flirtatious and stylish way, being yourself in your own way, it pays homage to the essence behind the Harlem Renaissance.

When I found Pam Hogg bodysuits! Those are hot.
