Q1 When did you first want to be a designer?
I really don't remember. All of my family is in to music and I was supposed to be a musician, but ended up being a designer. And fact is that it's not that big difference between making music and making objects.
Q2 What's a highlight of your recent design career?
The highlight of success is probably some of the prizes I have won, I was announced to be the designer of the year in Sweden, 2007. That was nice. The more important highlight is that I go to work every morning and really enjoy it. I am very lucky to be able to do just what I want to do, there is not very many people in the world that is that fortune.
Q3 what do you offer to consumers different than others
I do my work because I really love it, I don't see it as a competition. I try to develop things that I fall in love with and I want to live with for the rest of my life. I try to be true to my ideas and have fun along the way. |

Q4 What do you think about a interior design industry in STOCKHOLM right now?
Stockholm is a small town and that is also reflecting upon the design scene. Its safe, tidy and nice but sometimes a bit boring. In a bigger town like Tokyo or New York the options are of course much greater.
Q5 Is there a designer who inspires you?
No, not really. Rather mucishans or writers. But there is a lot of designers that I admire for their work.
Achille Castiglioni for example, he really figured it all out.
Q6 Could you tell us the work you enjoyed the most so far?
The work I have been doing for the Swedish kids company BRIO has been very fun and challenging. The furniture's are not in the market yet but the launch of the first things is planned in the end of May. It has been very fun to design children's furniture because of the different scale and the complexity of the task. |

I am working with several projects at the same time. Today I am working with furniture's for the Danish company Fredericia. It is a really nice company with high skilled craftsmen and I can do furniture's that would be hard for other companies to realize with the same level of quality. |

Q12 If you can go anywhere in the world where would you go first?
Tomorrow I am going to my weekend house in Dalarna in the the north of Sweden. It's a lonely house just by the lake. We get the water from a well nearby, and we don't have any electricity so I make a fire in the stove to keep warm. I like the complete silence there. At the moment there is 40 cm thick ice on the lake and I will go Ice fishing. Hopefully I will eat fresh fish from the lake by tomorrow evening.
Q13 What are your aspirations?
Oh, That's a tuff one. Isn't that the same as asking what life is about?
Q14 Would you like to add anything for your fans in Japan?
I know a few Japanese people here in Sweden and they are all so nice. And when I go to Japan I am always happy to meet the people, you are so kind and positive. You are lucky to live in such a nice country like Japan. |

Q7 What is your greatest inspiration when you're making pieces?
That could really be anything. After traveling I am full of inspiration and ideas that I just have to write down. These ideas are then processed somehow, subconsciously. There are no rules for inspiration but I think that I need peace and quiet to think good thoughts. People are a bit like stereo equipments. We record things in our surrounding, like politics, music, architecture and fashion. We have an input and an output channel, and the trick is to have a nice thick cable in between these channels.
Q8 Is there a dream project that you'd like to do?
I am doing that at the moment. I really like what I am doing. I would really like to spend more time in Japan and therefore it would be nice to work for some nice Japanese company.
Q9 Favorite cocktail and where to drink it?
A cup of coffee on the Ice I just mentioned. |

Q10 If you could rewrite your history a bit and take on a totally different career or lifestyle, what would it be and why?
Well as I said I am satisfied with my work, but if I have to do something else that would probably be music. I always think in terms of music. |
