Q1 Please tell us your brief profile and working career. Why did you become designer?
We met during studies at art school and decided to work together after graduating from Konstfack, University College of Arts, Crafts & Design in 1999. Mingla was born 2000, we also work as interior stylists for magazines and exhibitions, and freelance as designers for other companies like Dinos Catalogue in Japan.

Q2 What is the concept of your products?
We are pattern freaks, prints and patterns are our greatest passion. We want to create a stylish interaction between colour and design, with poetic details and a large dose of humor. If it's also useful, it's perfect.

Q3 What is your greatest inspiration?
Modern art, architecture, and of course small pieces of nature.
 
Q4 What would you be if you weren't a designer?
Maybe work with food in one or another way.

Q5 Who is your dream collaborator?
Orrefors glassworks

Q6 Are there any places or countries you would like to visit?
Japan and Tokyo is always on top of our wishing list, we love the food and your beautiful country.

Q7 When is the most important time of your day?
When we can spend time with our children. Jenny has one boy, Nils, 4 years. Ann Charlotte has two boys, Tom 5, and Hugo 3 years old.

Q8 Could you tell us anything what you think it's cool at the moment?
Its cool that so many people take the environment seriously, thinking more of the ecology benefits everyone.
 
 
 
 

Stockholm based mingla design produce great patterns on fabric, oilcloth and laminated birch trays.
Ann Charlotte Ridderstolpe & Jenny Mahler Uniyal are also stylists so its no suprise they have a stylish website to display their wares.

Q9 Are there any people who inspired you? Who do you respect?
If you are from scandinavia and work with patterns, you can't get around Marimekko or Stig Lindbergs fantastic designs. We also feel related to Astrid Sampe, Tapio Wirkala and Ingegerd Raman.

Q11 Do you have any advice for the young people?
When you have decided to work with design or art, just go for it, it is much work but don't give up.

Q12 Could you tell us about your next collection?
We are planning for a collection of duvet covers for this autumn. We are diving into the Big Grey.
