Q1 What made you decide to be a designer?
It really just seams natural. I could not picture myself doing anything else. Both of my Grandparents were Artist/Designers for childrens toys and I looked up to them greatly.

Q2 What inspires you to design?
Coco my 2 year old daughter and the world around us. Also other designers that create from the heart.

Q3 Can you talk about the various creative aspects of your job?
Lila and I are head deep with all the design aspects from web and soft goods to trade show booths and marketing. All of which are very different beasts, but it's easy for us to maintain our message across all mediums because we are a small team and we share the same inspiration.

Q4 What's a highlight of your recent design career?
I love being able to travel and call it work. I love going to NYC and Chicago. Also just seeing that people are excited about what were are doing and mostly that kids absolutely love the designs that we are creating for them. We get emails from people telling us about how their child will only wear our shirt or our hat, that makes it all worth while.

Q5 What do you see about Japan?
Food. I would love to visit Japan.

"Coco and Milkweed a small operation that began in Spring of 2005 with the anticipation of the arrival of our daughter. We (Evan - dad, graphic designer, knitter, printer. Lila Maleah - stay at home mom, knitter, sewer, designer. Coco - keep 'em on their toes toddler, inspiration, test monkey.) work hard to make great clothes for little people and adults alike. It is our goal to create items that are different than what is already out there. You'll find our designs to be unique and are a mixture of found and original artwork. We take pride in the quality of our products, made one by one with love and care. We love what we do and hope you do too!" -Designer, Evan and Lila Maleah Parker, Coco and Milkweed
