Q1 What made you decide to be an artist?
I decided to become an artist after I failed chemistry twice and realized I would never become a Marine Biologist. Also, I met a wizard in the forests of Oregon, USA. He told me that I was destined to become an artist.

Q2 What inspires you to design?
I think many humans communicate poorly. That thought inspires me to investigate how people communicate. Using intense color and text, my aim is to transcend language and reach a different level of communication that is rarely achieved during day-to-day activities. I'm basically a shaman with a day job. Beards, mermaids and beer inspire me as well.

Q3 Can you talk about the various creative aspects of your job?
At my job, I can eat lunch whenever I feel like it. I can also listen to music and wear camouflage pants and a bandana like Rambo.

Q4 What's a highlight of your recent design career?
Hmmm. My self-published graphic novelette—The Amish Elf—was nominated for the St. Paul, MN Book Wizard "Nice Try Award."

Q12 If you could rewrite your history a bit and take on a totally different career or lifestyle, what would it be and why?
I would probably have become a private investigator or a forensics pathologist. I'm big into crime drama.

Q13 What is your favorite guilty meal? Any good restaurants?
Pizza. I could eat pizza and beer for every meal. The best restaurant I know of is Pizza Palace in Elmhurst, Illinois, USA.

Q14 What is your aspiration?
I'd like to learn how to swim without using my water wings anymore.

He graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999 with a BFA in painting.
